Where it all began!

We moved to our first home on Brightwater St. on January 1st 2010- we had a humble beginning..aka NOTHING. We literally started from scratch. We had my bedroom set, Dereks old bedroom set and one overstuffed chair for the living room.

From the time we moved in I got in SERIOUS "make this house a home" mode, and I loved every minute of it. I found some awesome deals and I'm pretty absolutely sure Derek started to worry about me since I became addicted to Craigslist. hardcore.

So here's a fabulous dresser that I found and it was the first thing I purchased for $500 before we even had a couch or dining room table. Derek thought I was out of mind but I just knew I had to have it!

A couple reasons I had to have this dresser-- A.) it was 100% pure solid wood and weighed about 500 lbs , so I knew it was good. B.) it looks like a family heirloom C.) Its gorgeous and you can't find it anywhere else for that kind of price.

SOLD!

Here's my beautiful heirloom buffet table in my dining room at  brightwater house.

well... its kind of hidden by the dining room table and chairs that I also found on Craigslist. Yes. thats right.

I found the dining room table from a precious cargo ad I saw on Craigslist and my 6 banana leaf chairs were originally purchased from IO Metro for $100 a piece, I found them BRAND NEW on craigslist for $250 for the whole set.

Ahhhhhhh. I love that feeling. You know the one where you feel so proud and impowered--like you just found hidden treasures?? I get a great deal of excitment from bargain shopping.
Its way more thrilling to me than just walking in a store and buying things the normal way.

Here's a side view of my mix and match table and chairs with the heirloom buffet

The " hub caps" aka sphere wired mirrors on the wall; were one of my "real deal" purchases from IO metro. I love them so. The Over sized painting on the wall is also another "real purchase" from IO metro. I splurged on that one. It was also purchased before we had a couch.

I will never forget the day I asked Derek to paint Haper's entire room--and ceiling. He was less than thrilled but it was a process that was well worth it!

after all that hard work, we moved several months later into the house that we now call home but I will never forget where it all started.

more memories from 3819 Brightwater St.

3819 Brightwater St. will forever be in my heart. It was our first house that we made into a home. It's where we first lived together under one roof. Its where we had our first child. Its where it all began.
